The Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu is the first foreign leader who met with President Trump since he was sworn in last month. Netanyahu got here to the White House and organizes a press conference with Trump on Tuesday evening.
Netanyahu’s visit is among the negotiations regarding the 2nd phase of the weapon suspension agreement between Israel and Hamas. Phase 1 of the contract focused on the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.
“We focus on making sure that Phase 1 ends exactly as it should end, that all hostages who are part of this agreement return home, including the body,” Steve Witkoff, the president’s envoy in the Middle East, told journalists.
