On Monday, former Singapore Transport Minister S. Iswaran was dropped at trial on eight additional charges, bringing the whole variety of charges against him to 35.
The former minister returned from approx court-approved travel to Australia last week after extending his trip on account of illness.
The new fees are below Section 165 of the Singapore Penal Codewhich concern government officials accepting items of value from others with or without insufficient compensation.
According to the charge sheet, they include accepting bottles of whiskey and wine, in addition to golf clubs and a Brompton bicycle from an individual called Lum Kok Seng.

In January, Iswaran was charged with 27 charges, including corruption. He was accused of obtaining tickets to the Singapore Grand Prix, football matches and shows within the UK, allegedly donated by billionaire Ong Beng Seng.
According to CNBC’s calculations, Iswaran won 116 Singapore Grand Prix tickets from 2016 to 2022 value 347,152.10 Singapore dollars ($258,388.78). There were no racing events in 2020 and 2021 on account of the pandemic.
Malaysian billionaire Ong is credited with bringing F1 to Singapore in 2008. In 2022, his private company Singapore GP and the Singapore Tourism Board secured the rights host the Singapore Grand Prix until 2028.
In July last yr, Ong was arrested by Singapore’s anti-graft agency as a part of the Iswaran investigation.
