You might just need to get a bit of braver to try the newest Skittles flavor.
On July 25, French’s and Skittles announced what the pair calls the spiciest yellow candy of the summer: French Skittles with a mustard flavor.
The candy-coated brains in the boardroom of one in every of America’s most famous candies are teaming up with a virtually 120-12 months-old spice company to create a special treat ahead of National Mustard Day on August 5.
“SKITTLES always strives to inspire moments of everyday happiness and provide fans with unexpected ways to experience the brand,” Ro Cheng, chief marketing officer at Mars, said in a press note. “That’s why we partnered with French’s to create first-of-its-kind SKITTLES that combine the tangy flavor of mustard with our iconic chewy texture to provide this unique summer treat for National Mustard Day.”
For those that have tried other French Mustard Day releases like his mustard-flavored hot dog buns, donuts and even him ice-creamgetting a taste of that rainbow, it looks a bit of different this time.
Fun packs of mustard candy might be given away free while supplies last at in-person events in Atlanta, Georgia, Washington, D.C. and New York. If you reside outside of those areas and for some reason you crave mustard candy, don’t fret: you may as well win prizes in online sweepstakes.
(*5*) Valda Coryat, vice chairman of selling for North America at McCormick & Company (French parent company), said in a press release. “We are thrilled to partner with SKITTLES to bring our beloved Classic Yellow® Mustard flavor in a new and fun way to French fans and SKITTLES fans alike.”
Customers who are fans of the spicy flavor – or are simply adventurous – may also have the opportunity to sample Mustard Skittles and receive branded goodies on French’s multi-stop tour of the East Coast.
The savory treat might be transported in what the corporations call the “Mustard Mobile” – a brilliant yellow, specially designed vintage bus with giant Mustard Skittles on top. The company will publish a map where people can stop or follow its very yellow journey to the following locations:
- Thursday, July 31, 11 a.m. to three p.m.: Atlanta, Georgia’s Ponce Town Square
- Wednesday, August 2, 11 a.m. to three p.m.: Washington, DC City center
- Saturday, August 5 from 11:00 a.m. to three:00 p.m.: New York Park on the Hudson River
Reaction to French’s previous collaborations has ranged from delight when reviewed hot dog buns in 2021 and, to his disgust, deemed it a house run for mustard-flavored desserts akin to donuts and ice cream.
“I just saw an ad for Mustard Donuts and I’m wondering how do I charge French’s with assault?” he tweeted one person in 2022
“What kind of psychopath would come up with the idea of creating mustard ice cream?” he asked next in 2019.
“Be honest, you liked it!” Frenchman he wrote in response at the time.
Regardless of which side of the yellow brick road you are on, you’ll be able to visit until August 5 dedicated website for this cooperation to enter for a likelihood to win a bag of spice-flavored candies.
And for the doubters, you never know, like the Mona Lisa, this could possibly be an absolute mustard piece.
