The plane, which departed San Francisco International Airport on Friday, was missing an exterior panel after landing at its destination in Medford, Oregon.
United released the next statement:
“This afternoon, United flight 433 landed safely at its scheduled destination, Rogue Valley International Airport/Medford Airport. After parking the plane on the gate, it was discovered that its exterior panel was missing. We will thoroughly inspect the aircraft and perform any needed repairs before it returns to service. We may even conduct an investigation to raised understand how this damage occurred.
United said there have been 139 passengers and 6 crew members on board the Boeing 737-800. There was also no emergency reported on the plane en path to Medford “as there was no indication of damage during the flight,” United said.
The incident involving United Airlines Flight 433 is the newest in a string of mechanical problems which have recently occurred on United planes.
Thursday, United Airlines Flight 1816 departed from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at 5:30 a.m. Just before landing at SFO at 7:30 a.m. local time, the United Airbus experienced a hydraulic leak. According to authorities, he managed to land safely.
On March 7, a United flight to Japan left the SFO was diverted to Los Angeles after a wheel fell off during takeoff.
Then on March 8 passengers needed to be evacuated from a United Airlines plane in Houston after it skidded off the runway and have become stuck in the grass during landing.
Also on March 8, a United flight to Mexico from SFO was diverted to LAX because of a plumbing problem.
Last Monday, a United flight flew from Sydney to SFO, Australia needed to turn around in mid-flight after fluid was spotted leaking from the best rear landing gear.
All incidents are currently under investigation, with some aviation experts questioning their connection to the San Francisco airport.
