There’s a Pennsylvania dog rolling around in it, but not in the way in which you’re thinking that.
According to his owners, Cecil, a 7-12 months-old goldendoodle, was a little hungry and ate $4,000 in cash.
Carrie and Clayton Law said they recently placed an envelope with money on their kitchen table. They were saving it for a home improvement project of their Pittsburgh neighborhood.
Carrie shared a funny yet crazy story (*5*)Instagram and he said, “This is Cecil. He had never done anything unsuitable in his life…until he ate $4,000.
“I was there and I couldn’t believe it,” said Cecil’s owner, Carrie Law. “I thought I can’t believe this happened. And the funniest thing was that I found the corner of a $100 bill in his water bowl. It’s like he just had to wash it.”
The couple recovered the expensive snack and turned it into cash, but that was easier said than done.
They had to attend… and wait until Cecil went to the toilet and vomited to get the a reimbursement. They searched through Cecil’s vomit and feces to get well as much money as possible. And of course it was disgusting and in pieces.
“It took us about three days to get everything back and then wash, dry and tape it up,” Carrie said. “The puzzle took several hours to complete and required a lot of patience because we had to wait for him to go to the bathroom until we could get more pieces.”
Carrie says Cecil is doing wonderful now, and aside from getting a little sick, it hasn’t really bothered him.
“I think he just took a nap after that,” Carrie said.
As for the cash, they got most of it back.
“We have recovered about $3,550 so far,” Carrie said. “We have about $400 in completely destroyed bills. We could frame some of them,” she said with a laugh.
