    – Henry Ford’s MODEL T: a car that was mass produced
    – ASSEMBLY LINE: workers would complete the same tasks all day everyday, replaced skilled workers because they couldn’t compete
    – Frederick Taylor’s SCIENTIFIC MANAGEMENT: goal to make factory work more efficient by first observing then critiquing
    – ADVERTISING INDUSTRY: companies learned how to promote their products with advertisements
    – POPULAR CULTURE: the radio/cinema made broadcasting news and entertainment easy (THE JAZZ SINGER ended silent movie era) emphasizes distinctions between groups of people.
