SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) – Want to work off that turkey? The San Diego County Parks and Recreation Authority is celebrating a vacation they invented called “Green Friday.”
Green FridayBlack Friday celebrates outdoor experiences with free activities for the entire family in parks and reserves across the region. According to the county, all parks that charge a $3 per day parking fee could have their parking waived on Green Friday.
Ranger-led activities reminiscent of planned drives and hikes are organized, and volunteer opportunities include tree planting and habitat restoration.
“The events are active and educational in nature – consistent with our mission of balancing recreation with efforts to protect and preserve the lands and local environment,” County Parks said.
