This week, the US Department of Justice sued Apple, claiming the corporate has a monopoly within the smartphone market. We break down the lawsuit and ask whether this will likely be a significant turning point in Apple’s dominance. Next, Jonathan Haidt, a social psychologist, claims that smartphones and social media are causing a widespread increase in mental health problems amongst young people. He gives us 4 potential solutions to the issue. Finally, Reddit’s market capitalization reached $9.2 billion when it debuted on the New York Stock Exchange this week, but the corporate still is not making any money. We talk in regards to the challenges Reddit faces once it goes public and how the location may change in consequence.
