ATTah began playing the basketball of men in 1908, ending the 3-8 record. But until 1916, Utes won their first national championships, winning the title of National Aau tournament.
The school has performed the NCAA tournament 29 times, drawn within the twenty seventh position within the history of NCAA and the fourth largest performances within the West for under UCLA, Arizona and Byu.
In 1927, Utah began putting the muse on what would grow to be one of the essential university basketball programs with the employment of Vadal Peterson.

The last success of Kingpin of Utah basketball is Rick Majerus, who trained Utah to nine conference titles, making 11 trips to the NCAA tournament, including the ultimate 4 performance in 1998.

In 2011, Larry Krystkowiak took his reins in Salt Lake City, passing Utes into the newly prolonged PAC-12 conference. His teams performed two performances within the NCAA tournament, but they never won the title of the conference.
