Dennis was formally accused of march 2024 for his participation in the death of Hoskins, his wife and former master of Olympian and the world, after an incident with a car that took place near their family home in Adelaide.

Apparently, he drove a car that hit Hoskins on December 30, 2023. She was taken to hospital and died the next day.
The original allegations also included causing death by dangerous driving and the deteriorating offense of driving without due diligence. Both of these allegations were later dropped. In December 2024, Dennis pleaded guilty for a lower allegation of committing a sharpened act that could cause damage.
Prosecutor Tali Costi told the court on Monday that although Dennis was not responsible for the crime for Hoskins’ death, or he did not know, or “the reckless fact that she was holding the vehicle” when the material from CCTV appeared showing a few seconds preceding the incident.

The maximum penalty for the charged fee for making a probability of damage is seven years imprisonment and a five -year loss of driving license.
