SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) – Slidell Police Department officers have made multiple arrests following an investigation into alleged violent gang activity.
SPD reported that on Tuesday, March 19, officers from the Slidell Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, SWAT and federal agencies executed two arrest warrants in the Robert Boulevard corridor.
According to SPD, “The investigation involved two Slidell homes that were linked to violent gang activity occurring in the New Orleans metro area.”
SPD officials said detectives recovered tens of 1000’s of dollars, multiple fully automatic rifles and high-capacity handguns and an assortment of illegal drugs throughout the search.
Details are limited at the moment, but SPD officials said: “Multiple arrests were made during the course of the investigation; However, due to the ongoing investigation, the identity of the perpetrators is being withheld.”
SPD didn’t provide any additional information.
