NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A chilly front moved south Thursday evening and colder weather will proceed through Friday evening. First, expect a number of scattered showers this evening into very early Friday morning. The best probability of this might be along and south of I-10.
Skies will then clear quickly on Friday and it should be sunny many of the day. It will remain cool but breezy with highs within the upper 50s.
The coldest night of the season to date will likely be Friday night. A freeze watch is in effect for Washington Parish and Pearl River County. Early Saturday we could see a number of areas drop to around 31-32. Most of us will see the mid 30s north, then the upper 30s and 40s south. Saturday might be sunny with a high around 60 degrees.
Expect dry and funky weather to proceed throughout the weekend. Sunday will warm as much as the low to mid 60s. A weak injection of strengthening cold air will arrive on Monday, and a few areas may freeze again on Monday evening.
