The New Orleans Blood Center opened on New Year’s Day, and several other locations will open on Thursday, January 2.
NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans is in dire need of blood donors following the mass killing incident on Bourbon Street on New Year’s Day morning.
Fifteen people died and dozens were injured, which filled the University Medical Center and hampered the blood flow to town.
The New Orleans Blood Center opened on New Year’s Day, and several other locations will open on Thursday, January 2.
In addition, an appeal for donations was sent throughout the country.
Places open on Thursday are:
· Blood Center Corporate Office. (Guarded parking can be provided for blood donors) – 2609 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA – 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The following donor centers can be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.:

· Mandeville – Hwy 4350. 22, Apartment K
· Slidell – 105 Smart Ave.

· Columbia, MS – 1111 US-98 Suite B
· Hattiesburg, MS – 4700 Hardy Street
· Ocean Springs, MS – 2939 Bienville Blvd.
· Picayune – Highway 509. 11 North
· Metairie Donor Center – 2617 Edenborn, Suite A
