Nowy Orlean (press release) – May 2 Government Research Office He announced that he employed Heather Sweeney to act as a development director. In this position, Heather will cooperate with the president and general director of BGR Rebecca Mowbray and the management board to make sure financing further independent and impartial public policy research.
Coming from Massachusetts, Heather was born and raised in Beverly, a city next to the outskirts of Boston. She attended the Connecticut College, gaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Heather later obtained a master’s degree at Ohio State University. In 2008 she moved to New Orleans to get the opportunity to work.
“I really care about everyday problems that shape life in New Orleans. BGR plays an important role based on effective, transparent and responsible local government – which will help create a flowering community for all of us,” said Heather.
Heather has 20 years of experience in raising funds and philanthropy, particularly at the Second Harvest Food Bank, where she also served as a development director.
Outside BGR, Heather sits on the chapter management board at Nowy Orleans of the Association of Funds for Funds and is currently coordinating the monthly programming of the organization’s skilled development as the chairman of the Program Committee.
“Heather has already had a positive impact on BGR with its scope of knowledge about the art of raising funds,” Rebecca said. “Welcome her in the team and we are waiting for her contribution to the future success of BGR.”
