NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Bayou Classic is greater than only a rivalry between two of the biggest historically black universities in Louisiana.
Students even have financial advantages.
According to Brandon A. Logan, vp of Grambling University Advancement & Innovation, “In terms of benefits to the university, what can it benefit from classics? Well, there are layers of benefits, not only the game, concessions and general activities that we receive, but the evening before the game called Kicks Ball and kick ball held at the Hilton Riverside hotel we host a gala to raise money for the Gap Scholarship fund the gap between funds available to the student and what is owed to the university.”
Information in regards to the gala might be obtained at: GSUkicksball.com.
“We already have over 600 people who have purchased tickets and sponsorship. I must say that I am very grateful to our presenting sponsor, Adidas, for their capital investment and all the ongoing work they do to elevate the Grambling State University brand,” Logan said.
