Nowy Orlean (press release) – Enewdumezripple. 2025 months Crown Hall Americas Award (MChAP). Designed by Enewdumezripple, Marlon Blackwell Architekci and Andropogon Associates, Thaden School was chosen from the sphere of outstanding projects covering America.
The MChAP recognizes architectural work that develops the perfection of design, while coping with the mixing of natural, built and human ecology, awarded every two years by the Illinois Institute of Technology of Architecture, MCHAP. The prize was announced on May 5 in the course of the symposium and celebration on the SR Crown Hall in Chicago.
The heart of the campus is the unique program of “learning” Thaden School – concentrated across the topics of circles, meals and rolls – which mixes film, food and production in on a regular basis educational life. The site includes scientific and production laboratories, gardens, kitchens and outdoors that introduce learning outside and to the landscape.
By marking his decision, the MCHAP CYCLE 5 jury was shared:
“Arkansas rural context inspired a design team to create an extremely American spatial form, which at the same time focuses on the Thaden academic community, and will remain completely open to the surrounding communities. The building shapes a campus soaked in the rural culture of its place – barn, veranda and long and low buildings of the Artical Farm Farm. action”. Sustainable development was a key driving force for the project. The campus includes geothermal systems, rainwater management, native plantings and recovered materials – which is the results of energy efficiency by 70% higher than in similar schools. Buildings and landscape cooperate to support well -being, availability and immunity.
Reflecting on the award, Steve Dumez, Faia, Director and Director for Design at Enewdumezripple and the director of responsibility for the primary plan, he noticed:

From the very starting, our goal was to create a campus that may serve as a bridge – between students and nature, tradition and innovation, school and community. This recognition confirms that a thoughtful, justified design can shape the way in which the community combines with young people – and the way The world with them.
This recognition places the Thaden school among the many chosen group of projects celebrated worldwide and strengthens the role of architecture in the event of community, education and ecological management.
