Chance Perdomo, a British actor known for his roles in the series “Gen V” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”, died on Friday. He was 27 years old.
Mr. Perdomo died in a motorbike accident, his representative, Larissa Saenz, said in a press release on Saturday. The statement said that “authorities said no other people were involved in the case.” It was not immediately clear where the accident occurred.
Mr. Perdomo played a pansexual warlock Ambrose Spellman in the Netflix series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and Andre Andersona superhuman with magnetic manipulation abilities, in “The Boys” spinoff series “Gen V.”
According to his representative, he was born on October 20, 1996 in Los Angeles and raised in Southampton, England. Details about the survivors weren’t immediately available.
Mr. Perdomo described himself as “a black child raised by a Latino mother in a white binational society.”
After graduating from Peter Symonds College, Winchester, where one of his specialties was theater, he landed a small role in an episode of “Hetty Feather”, a British kid’s drama set in the Victorian era.
In 2020, he told The New York Times that although the role consisted of “one or two lines,” it was enough for him to “take that leap of faith” and pursue acting full-time.
Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television said in a press release statement posted on the “Gen V” social media account that they were “devastated” by the news of Mr. Perdomo’s death.
The account also posted a press release from the producers of “Gen V” during which they said they “can’t deal with it.”
“Even writing about him in the past tense makes no sense,” he added in a press release.
Diversity reported that production of the second season of “Gen V” has been “indefinitely delayed” following the news of Mr. Perdomo’s death.
In the UK, Mr Perdomo was known for his role in ‘Killed by my debt”, a TV movie based on the true story of a young courier who commits suicide after two traffic tickets land him in crushing debt.
In the interview published on social media, he recalled a conversation he had along with his mother when he was about 2 years old. He told her he had two things he was striving for.
(*27*) he said. “I said I wanted to be the first black president of the United States and I wanted to be on Barney.
Perdomo then described the differences between his roles in “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Killed by My Debt.” He said of his work: “It’s been quite a year. Quite a few years.
“Visual media are great tools for conveying messages and thoughts,” he added.
He said that an emotional reference to someone may help make that person think in another way, and that “can change perspective and hopefully lead to more lasting change.”
