A source close to JPMorgan’s CEO said Jamie Dimon has not spoken to Donald Trump for at the very least several months Fortune.
Friday’s report New York Post OfficeAccording to the source, the data that they’ve been communicating through secret channels for months is not accurate.
Trump’s transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Sources close to Trump say Lent that talks began before the elections and continued after them, specializing in plans for spending cuts, banking regulations, taxes and trade.
Earlier this month, Trump ruled out a task for Dimon in his administration amid speculation that the Wall Street giant is perhaps into consideration for Treasury secretary.
“I greatly respect JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon, but he will not be invited to join the Trump administration. Thank you Jamie for his outstanding service to our country!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on November 14.
During a conference later that day, Dimon responded that he was not focused on serving within the Trump administration, saying, “I haven’t had a boss in 25 years and I’m not ready to start yet.”
This happened a month after Trump posted a screenshot on his Truth Social account falsely claiming that Dimon had endorsed him for president, prompting JPMorgan strongly denies this. Trump later said he knew nothing concerning the post, explaining that another person had posted it.
Dimon did not endorse either Trump or Kamala Harris for president, although his wife campaigned for Harris.
Still, supporters of the president-elect noted some favorable comments from Dimon, including: his eulogy in Januarywhen he said Trump “is kind of right about NATO and kind of right about immigration.” He developed the economy quite well. Trade tax reform worked. He was right about parts of China.
Dimon also said this earlier this month Trump is not against tradeadding that its tariff plans will “bring people to the table.”
