Minister of the Fisheries Union, Animal Breeding and Dairy Rajiv Ranjan Singh said on Saturday that the federal government goals to extend fish production from 17.5 million tons to 22 million tons. The Minister of the Union chaired here the eleventh annual General Meeting of the Managing Authority of the National Fisheries Development Council (NFDB).
“At the meeting of the NFDB management body, there was a discussion today about increasing the production of fish from (current) 17.5 million tons to 22 million tons … by focusing on technology, investments and innovations. We will do a strategy on this topic and work to achieve the goal (22 million tons) – said Rajiv Ranjan Singh.
Meanwhile, Rajiv Ranjan Singh together with the Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Breeding and Dairy Sing Sing Singh Baghel and a member of Niti Aayog prof. RAMESH Chand inaugurated the startup of Fisheries Koncclave 2.0 on Saturday, an official edition.

He said that the Fisheries Department was organized by Startup Conclave 2.0 to promote innovations in the fisheries sector. Each victorious proposal will receive structured incubation support from ICAR (ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology) (National Fisheries Development Board) NFDB or other related institutions as part of the Fisheries Department, “he said.
These incubators will play a key role in the mentoring of startups, offering ability building programs and providing access to production infrastructure, to help them scale solutions effectively, gave a message.
