NEW YORK – Hyundai Genesis previews the future of the increasingly renowned luxury brand with the unveiling of a large new all-electric concept vehicle called Neolun.
The full-size SUV features a sleek exterior styling illuminated by long, horizontal headlights and taillights that are reminiscent of the brand’s current electric vehicles, although more modern.
The interior of Neoluna – derived from the Greek “neo”, meaning new, and the Latin “luna”, meaning moon – is minimalist compared to many recent concepts that feature door-to-door screens. The SUV has a large central screen with physical buttons below it and a control panel and knob on the driver’s right side.
The front seats of the vehicle can be turned towards the rear passengers to create space in the lounge.
“The Neolun Concept is a conceptual model that represents Genesis’ future vision, as well as the overall direction of the brand in terms of product, design and technological advancements,” Genesis said in an emailed statement.
Automakers routinely use concept vehicles to gauge customer interest or to indicate the future direction of a vehicle or brand. The vehicles are not intended for sale to consumers.

The company declined to reveal whether the vehicle is a preview of an upcoming large, all-electric SUV for Genesis, which is expanding its U.S. lineup
U.S. sales of Genesis rose 23% last year to a record 69,175 units compared to 2022. Genesis, which became its own brand in 2015, has overtaken more established luxury rival Infiniti and is expected to see sales this year will continue to grow.
“Our standalone retail footprint is growing rapidly and the brand continues to achieve record sales in the United States,” Tedros Mengiste, vice president of sales for Genesis Motor America, said last week.
