Audi on Monday unveiled its new all-electric Q6 e-tron SUV, the first production vehicle based on its next-generation electric vehicle architecture.
The Volkswagenowned by the luxury carmaker, says the new “Premium Platform Electric” opens up a new level of technology for Audi, including fast EV charging times of 258 miles in 10 minutes.
The vehicle ushers in the next generation of electric vehicles for Audi, which continues to supply more fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles despite the recent slowdown in electric vehicle growth.
Audi has confirmed that it plans to introduce around 20 new or significantly redesigned models and model derivatives globally by 2025, greater than half of which might be electric.

Orders for the Q6 e-tron quattro and the “S” Performance variant will open this month in Europe, starting at €74,400, or about $81,000, and €93,800, or $102,030, respectively. The estimated range of the Q6 e-tron on a single charge is 625 kilometers, or 388 miles.
Top performance specs for the US include as much as 510 horsepower, a top speed of 243 mph and acceleration from 0 mph to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
According to an Audi spokesman, exact pricing and details for U.S. models might be announced closer to when the mid-size SUV goes on sale domestically later this 12 months.
Audi currently offers the fully electric Q4 and Q8 SUVs in the US market, in addition to the $106,500 GT sedan.
The Q6 e-tron features Audi’s new but familiar design, including sleek headlights, a mesh-style grille and an overall aggressive exterior appearance.
The new electric vehicle platform features an 800-volt battery architecture and a maximum charging power of 270 kilowatt-hours.
